Dr. Wilcox

On Monday Jared and I had the pleasure of meeting
Dr. Wilcox.
He is an in vitro doctor that works at the Huntington Reproductive Center in Pasadena. When we met with him he explained what he would be doing for the whole in vitro process and he made me laugh because he said it looked like I had been tortured before I made it to him what with all the different test and attempts at tests that I have had this year. He told me that his main concern with me is the size of my uterus and that he wanted to make sure it is big enough to carry a baby to full term. So he did a vaginal ultrasound (which, by the way, are super weird! Way different than your run of the mill ultrasound, but I guess they are more accurate and it's easier to get a clear picture) and he said my uterus looks great! :) Yay!  He showed it to me on the screen and it looks so so tiny!  I can't believe a whole baby can fit in that thing!  He also said that my ovary looks like it is also a good size and it isn't going to be an issue that I only have one and since I am young, he can be more agressive in the egg retrieval process.  So yay!!!  I'm so excited and feeling very blessed and humbled by Jareds and my journey thus far.  So the odds of us getting prego the first go round is around 60%, which is actually pretty good based on the research that I've done.  If I get pregnant the first attempt then I'm going to be a mommy next year! :)  I'll make my parents grandparents and I'll make all of MY grandparents, aunts and uncles GREAT!!!

So this is what Jared and I have come up with.  So far the plan is that we are going to start the in vitro process in January so that we have a few months to straighten some things out and then we'll go at it full throttle.  If we get prego right away then I'll have a baby in Nov. or Dec. :)  If not then we'll just try, try again!  We'll keep updating as we learn new things and move through this little adventure.  And thanks to everyone who has prayed for us and with us, we love you!
