Disclaimer: If you hate v-day don't read this post, haha
This is Jared's and my 5th Valentines together and so I wanted to make it a little extra special.
So I made pink french toast with raspberries and pink hot chocolate for breakfast. I was pretty excited about the pink hot chocolate... that is, until I tasted it. So gross!!! I think the people that came up with it sai, "who cares if it tastes bad? Those suckers will buy it anyway because it's pink" I guess I'm a sucker.
Jared brought some rubios (yum!) back to the office and we had lunch together.
Then when I got home I cut a trillion little red and white hearts out and scattered them with rose petals everywhere. I'm pretty proud of myself.
Jared brought me some BEAUTIFUL flowers and a tender card home. The card is the part I love about v-day. Jared's not the mushy type and my bday and valentines are the only times I get a little love note.
Then I rocked it with a (if I do say so myself) phenominal dinner.
First course was shrimp cocktail
Second course was ribeye steaks with baby potatoes and asparagus.
and Dessert?
Remember that lava cake recipe I found?
It was DIVINE.
Jared says it's probably the best dessert he's ever had. It was super easy to make and delicious!!! It was the perfect ending to my amazing dinner (am I tooting my own horn enough?) hehe and I love the bowls I baked it in. I got them at Michaels for 49 cents a piece. :) Score!
Oh yeah... and Jared loved his 'lottery tickets'
Overall...
V-day 2011 = total success
