17 weeks

Sorry for the crap picture this week.  My photographer has been working late hours. {like, he didn't get home until after 9 last night and it'll probably be the same story again tonight.}

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: gained 7 lbs
Maternity clothes: Yep!  An awesome friend gave me a  ton of maternity clothes last week so that'll save me a bunch of money :) Yay!
Stretch marks: Nope, I'm slathering myself with elasticizing lotion every morning and night so I'm crossing my fingers that will save my skin.
Best moment this wk: Finding out the genders!  Can't wait to meet my little ones!  And Jared and I came to a compromise.  I get to name this little girl and he will name our next girl. :)
Miss anything: I miss being able to go 4 wheeling with Jared.
Movement: Didn't feel very much movement this last week, but those babies are pretty squished in there already so I don't think they have much room to move around haha
Food cravings: Still addicted to ice cream, haha
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, but I still gag when I brush my teeth. :p
Have you started to show yet: YES
Genders: Boy and Girl
Labor signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On -  but it's definitely a tighter fit.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :)
Looking forward to: Getting the nursery cleaned out this week so we can get it ready for paint.

Can we talk about swollen ankles for a second?  Holy crap.  I HAVE to put my feet up every day for at least half an hour after work or else I end up with almost cankles.  Like last night.  Didn't put my feet up and I was appalled at the size of my ankles.  It actually scared me a little. :p  I guess I need to start really watching my salt intake and up the water.

This week:
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat
 glands are starting to develop.
And the babies are each about the size of an onion.

This last week was a pretty eventful one for us.  We found out the genders of our little beans and we've decided on names for them.
In 23 {ish} weeks we will welcome Wyatt Reid and Willow Lynn Barney into the world.  I can hardly wait!
Jared ditched me over the weekend and went 4 wheeling in Glamis with our BIL.  He had a total blast and I was left at home with lots of jealous feelings.  I miss 4 wheeling.  I miss Glamis.  I miss the hills and hills of beautiful endless sand and sunny clear blue skies.  I miss nights by the fire with foil dinners and a trillion stars in the sky.

The things we give up for our children, haha.  Oh well.  They're worth it!  And hopefully I'll be able to hit up the dunes next year.  I tried to keep myself busy while Jared was gone.  Thursday I went to my friend Shelly's house for dinner and she hooked me up with maternity clothes :)  Friday I did a bunch of much needed shopping and picked up a bunch of paint chips from Home Depot so that we can pick the wall color for the nursery.  Saturday I went with the youth of our church to do baptisms for the dead, and Sunday I went to our friend Rogers house for the Superbowl.
My favorite commercial?  Either the M&M one or the Matthew Broderick one :)

  1. You look so cute! Sorry you dind't get to go to Glamis. :(

One thing I did while I was pregnant with my Summer babies was to put two water bottles in the freezer, and every night I'd get them out, sit down on the couch, put my feet on top of the water bottles and roll them back and forth. I know it's not directly on your ankles, but it helped the swelling and soreness of my feet and I think that really helped my ankles not do be so bad too!
