Last week, Wyatt's OT gave him the Bayley test {the test that sees where Wyatt is developmentally}. He's already had this test done by the high risk infant clinic, but she had to do her own in order to assess what our goals for him will be over the next 6 months. So when she came this week she discussed the results of the test with me.
Wyatt is 9.5 months old, 6.5 months adjusted
this is approximately what he tested at {from what I remember}
Gross motor skills, he tested at the level of a 3.5 month old baby
Fine motor skills, he tested 4.5 months
Cognitive development, he tested 6 months {so pretty much on track}
Behavioral development, he tested around 5 months
As long as he's at least testing at his adjusted age they're not too worried about him. So I'll explain this... gross motor skills, is rolling around, sitting up and stuff like that.
An example of fine motor skills is picking up objects.
Cognitive development is problem solving skills
and behavioral development is how Wyatt acts in different situations and around different people.
I'll admit it. I knew Wyatt was behind, but I didn't realize that he's this behind.
I turned in the letter from Wyatt's dr. recommending PT 2x a week and upping OT to 1x a week. That should kick in about a month from now. And Wyatt's OT told me that we are going to be working a lot more aggressively with him. No more mrs. nice gals!
She submitted the report this week and I should get my official copy in a couple of weeks, I'll post the official score when I have it.
Anyway, since blogs without pictures are boring, here's the token picture :)
