I know this is a week late, but obviously Wyatt and I both survived being separated for a few days! I had a blast in Glamis and loved being able to have some much needed one on one time with Jared. And Wyatt looks like he had fun with his Auntie.
My SIL was awesome about staying connected with me and sent pictures and videos of Wyatt throughout our trip. It made it so my Wyatt tank didn't get too empty but I was still really anxious to get back to him.
I have learned that 2 years of not riding, with a pregnancy in between, really did a number on me. I was kind of nervous on our first ride but got the hang of it again pretty quickly. I wasn't able to go as fast, and actually found that I didn't want to because 'what if something happens to me? I haven't done a living will yet! What would happen to Wyatt?!' {Needless to say, our goal for February is to get a living will done}
So on about the weekend... The weather couldn't have been more perfect!
So on about the weekend... The weather couldn't have been more perfect!
The first day and a half we really didn't do a ton of riding, we mostly relaxed and just hung out with eachother. It felt really weird to not have somebody depending on me.
Anyway, the first day we were there we hooked up with Jareds cousins husband {did you follow that? haha} He has a side by side that he let Jared take out for a ride. During that ride, I saw my life flash before my eyes. I seriously thought I was going to die, so I did a super dumb thing... I closed my eyes and willed the ride to be over. Welllll... we went over this really bumpy area and my head jerked forward which made my helmet smash my hand which was holding onto the oh crap bar. So that really hurt. To add to the fun-ness of it all, my eyes being closed and all the jerking around gave me motion sickness {what?! I don't get motion sickness!} When the ride of hell was finally over I was ready to kill Jared and NEVER EVER BUY ONE OF THOSE THINGS!!! Jared is sad but whatever, he'll get over it haha. We went back over to our camp and I threw up a little and couldn't ride for the rest of the day, so that kind of sucked, but it was still fun to just hang out with Jared.
This was my view out the back of the trailer :)
One of my favorite parts about Glamis are the nightly bonfires
Friday nights fire
Saturday nights fire
This is one of the pictures that my SIL sent me while we were gone. It made me really miss that sweet little guy! {not that I didn't already}
and a video!
I love that giggle :)
Saturday was gorgeous. Blue skies all around.
We went on a really long ride this day. Like, 2.5 hours long. My thumb was so sore! But it was awesome. We went farther than we've ever gone before and Jared took me to a special place he found.
This is literally in the middle of the dunes. It's not on a map, there is no trail, Jared just happened on it one day about a year ago. At the base are plaques commemorating people that have passed away. The base is made out of metal, so most of them are either nailed or soldered on.
This is the place that Jared and I had discussed spreading Michael's ashes.
As I stood there watching the flag wave in the air, I reflected over the past year. All of it's ups and downs, positives and negatives. I tried to blink away my tears as I turned to look at Jared when I realized he was crying too. He reached over to hug me and said "I miss Michael"... I miss him too sweetie...
The sunset that night was gorgeous like always. I love Glamis sunsets.
The trip was fun, but when Sunday came I was anxious to get back to my little guy. He had fun with auntie Crystal, but he was so excited to see his mommy and daddy again :)
Here's us high-fiving
He really is such a ladies man
