I'll start with a confession.
Yesterday I coughed which may or may not have resulted in me peeing my pants a little.
I had my 16 week check up today! When I got there the nurse stuck me in a room that did not have an ultrasound machine in it. Not. Cool. I know that this dr. doesn't usually do ultrasounds at 16 wks but I called a week ago {because I WILL have an u/s at every check up dang it} to make sure I would get one since I'm considered high risk. They said yes. So when the nurse came back I brought it up and she checked with Dr. Grady and they thankfully moved me to a room with the ultrasound machine. Yay!
My blood test results from last time were good. My progesterone level came back at 111 which I'm happy about, but apparently I'm a little anemic so I have to start taking an iron supplement now. My mother in law told me that I should just eat a bunch of red meat. Can you tell she grew up on a farm? haha.
Also, I thought this was interesting. The doctor told me that my uterus is now the size of a single pregnancy uterus at about 22 weeks. Yikes! No wonder I'm so big already!
So here's our little bean sprouts!
The babies were moving around a lot {probably because I drank oj this morning} and had good strong heart beats. They look like they are growing just like they should be which makes me VERY happy.
Dr. Grady didn't want to tell us the genders yet because he said it's hard to tell this early especially since they are so small. But I was determined to get him to at least TRY. So I asked him,
"how do you even check for genders? "
Muah ah ah ah, my evil plan worked and I got him to look.
He gave us an 85% positive guess at what the two babies are. I think those are pretty good odds. So I am doing a little gender reveal dinner with my in-laws tomorrow and I'm having gender reveal cupcakes sent to my parents house in STL. It'll be a yummy way to find out the gender of the babies.
My next appt. will be on Feb. 28th :)

Awesome visit! Can't wait to get our cupcakes. :)
ReplyDeletethat is such wonderful news. You will get big so just plan on it accept it now. at 24 wks, I had to stop working because I couldn't reach the sink to wash my hand kind of important as a nurse, I had to turn side ways. You will be just fine. Let those babies grow and get big that is what you want big healthy twins. No NICU stays would be wonderful
ReplyDeleteLove to the four of you!
Sweet that you get to see your babes at every visit! I can't wait to hear your 85% positive news! :)
