I always look forward to getting packages in the mail. It's like having Christmas all year long.
Lately Wyatt seems to be getting all the fun stuff :)
Uncle Jason struck again and sent Wyatt some new kicks.
They are so cute!!!
It will be a little while before Wyatt's little feet fit into these babies, but he's going to be the coolest kid on the block when they do {who am I kidding... he's already the coolest}
The past few days with my little guy have been an absolute joy. He's finally settling into his groove here at home and has found his 'happy place'. He likes to stick to a schedule and doesn't forget to let me know when it's been three hours and it's time for more food. {or if he has a poopy diaper}... okay.. speaking of poopy diapers, this kid goes through soooo many diapers it's ridiculous. I've heard the average soiled diapers a day is 6-8 and he's more like 8-12. At least I know his digestive system is working!
Yesterday I may or may not have freaked out a little when I realized that my guy is 4 months old now. FOUR. MONTHS. He finally fits into newborn size clothing and at his pediatric appt he weighed in at 6 lb 13 oz {he actually weighs a little less than that. I wouldn't take off his clothes or diaper b/c I didn't want to irritate his skin more than needed} and he is 19 inches long. He's normal size now! He still weighs less than the average newborn baby, but he really is growing great. He's tripled his weight and grown 5 inches in his 4 months of life. Not too shabby. He's hitting the milestones of a 1.5 month old, so he's a little ahead of his adjusted age {his due date was 7/16 so he's one month adjusted today} and he's qualified for PT and OT from the regional center. A lady will be coming by every now and then to work with Wyatt to help him catch up to the milestones of his actual age.
All things considered, he's doing so so good. He totally recognizes me and yesterday he looked right at me and smiled when I came in the room.
I love that he can be awake and happy instead of just crying all of the
time. And something that I'm super excited about... Wyatt has gone
almost 72 hours without any morphine. Zip. Nada. Zilch. No pain killers at all... not even Tylenol {now I'm going to go knock on wood so I don't jinx it!}. He's been sleeping better as well. Part of me wants to attribute it to the use of the new cream I'm trying.
I got the Vanicream in the mail two days ago and I've been using that mainly during the day and I use the aquaphor at night time and after baths. So far I like what I see, but it's only been two days so we'll see how he's doing in a week or so. So far so good though!
What a beautiful baby boy!!!!
