Today is a big day. It's a big deciding day. Wyatt had an echo done and the results of that echo will determine whether or not he is going to need surgery.
Surgery.
That sounds like such a big word right now.
Obviously no parent would ever want their child to have something that would require surgery to fix it. The echo was done about two hours ago and after it was done, Wyatt's nurse told me it would probably be about two hours before we heard anything. Don't these people know that just an hour of mom time with something like this feels like 3 days?! lol. I'm so anxious to hear what the results are that my stomach hurts a little. I feel like the PDA is closed... but I'm afraid to be comfortable with that thought. Come on clock! See, just in writing a couple of lines it feels like it's been 10 minutes. I may or may not go slightly crazy waiting for these results. Okay... I'm going to try to distract myself while I wait. I'll check back in after I hear the news.

Okay, so the results are in.
Drum roll please.....................
The PDA is CLOSED!!!!!!!
All of the prayers and fasting and good thoughts and love that were said for and done for and sent to Wyatt worked! :) Thank you thank you thank you everyone that participated in the fast for him, and thank you for keeping my little boy in your prayers!
Since his PDA has closed, the line that was in his umbilical cord was able to be removed and now we can see his little belly button. :) He's an innie just like his daddy and me.
Before
After
His little belly button is so cute!
AND tomorrow he'll be started on feeds. :)
I'm so excited for him to be able to start on breast milk. I mean, I'm a little nervous because if his body can't handle it, it could mean something as bad as failure in his intestines... but that won't happen. He's going to be just fine and he'll love being able to have a full tummy. They'll start him out super slow with just 1cc and I'm not sure what the exact schedule of feeding will be. Sometimes they'll feed once every hour, sometimes it's once every three hours... just depends on the baby. I'll find out what the plans are at rounds either tonight or tomorrow morning.
So Yay!!! Today was a good day! :)
And I got a little pampering myself.
Kourtney and Kris Kardashian sponsored this thing for the NICCU moms to get manicures for mothers day. So some nail artists from OPI came and we got to get our nails did, and they gave us a little gift bag that had manicure stuff plus the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors line, and yes, I took my picture with them. I thought I looked alright when I left the house this morning... but you just can't compare to someone who has a hair and makeup team to make you glamorous.
I totally made fun of Kris for posing.
Oh, and Kourtney is super cute pregnant.
You know what I think is funny about celebrities though? They NEVER share their baby name. Me and one of the other moms, Julie {she's my new friend so I feel cool} asked Kourtney if she had picked a name for her baby girl and she was all "We're keeping it a secret." I wonder if she keeps it a secret because people want what they can't have and so it's a good popularity stunt, or if she thinks the name is super awesome and unique so she's not telling so someone else doesn't "steal" it. I just think it's funny because it's not like they thought up the name all on their own... unless you're Jermaine Jackson naming your child Jermajesty.
Finally, Wyatt has figured out how to take out his nasal cannula. In fact, he has mastered the art of ripping that sucker AND the OG tube out of his nose. I'm pretty sure he did that at least 100 times yesterday, and every time he would get all happy and smiley.
He looked sooo cute and I really didn't want to tell the nurse because he was just so happy without it. But I know he needs it still because sometimes he likes to forget to breath and that little contraption helps remind him.
